Tony & Maria Barros come from a long line of cattle ranchers in south Brazil. They love the "country" style of life, so back in the mid 80's, after they finished building a new house on their Brazilian cattle ranch, they hired Abmael, a talented craftsman, to make new wooden furniture for their new home. Together they chose a nice selection of beautiful-exotic hard wood from their ranch to make their unique line of furniture. Using his talent, Abmael tranformed each piece of raw wood into a beautiful piece of furniture which they called, Cross Bell Furniture. It is a unique style because it has a traditional Spanish influence with an American Southwestern trend but with a fine finish.
In 1994, Tony, Maria, and their three children moved to their ranch in Nowata, Oklahoma, where they raise beef cattle. Many of their friends from America who have seen their home in Brazil started asking them to make the Cross Bell Furniture and offer it to the American public. So, in early 1999 they decided to do so. Each piece of furniture is made after a meticulous process of wood selection to pick the very best part of it. All colors are natural, no dye is ever used. Only a "sanding sealer" and a fine layer of wax are used to enhance the beauty. |
